Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
- Requires ability to pass NCIC certification with on the job training in first 60 days
- Requires ability to complete 911 academy training within one year
(inability to complete trainings in time allotted will result in termination)
Special Certifications and Licenses:
- NCIC preferred but will train the right candidate in house
- E-911 certification required within one year. This will include attendance to academy.
Job Description:
Essential Functions:
- Answers 911 and non-emergency calls promptly. Translates information to the appropriate code. Enters all information into the computer with all details and information on the location and the persons involved.
- Dispatches the correct agency to the call with all information.
- Keeps accurate and up-to-date records and logs of all calls received.
- Gives first aid and CPR instructions as needed. Performs emergency medical dispatch interrogation and gives pre-arrival instructions.
- Monitors various law enforcement and emergency response agency radio communications along with computer equipment/software.
Additional Duties:
- Enters identity information into NCIC to check for warrants, stolen items and criminal histories.
- Enters and modifies information into local, state and national databases.
- Assists coworkers when needed with running data while they are busy with calls.
- Keeps work station clean and orderly.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Schedule:
Schedule: Rotating 12hr shifts (will include holidays, weekends & overnights)
