Trains in the operation of a backhoe in cleaning ditches and placing pipe. Operates tandem ten wheel dump truck, 5 to 10 yard standard dump truck, and flatbed truck for hauling materials
including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe construction materials and debris. Flags
traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and
equipment. Trains in the operation of a small motor grader in grading, machining shoulders,
spreading and leveling materials in order to ensure proper drainage of roadway. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance task as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipes. Operates standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Operates self-propelled steel wheel and pneumatic rollers, to compact and solidify fill material. Operates chain saw in the removal of trees from right-of-way.Performs other related duties as required.
