A 10th grade education and one and one-half (1.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class ?A? Trains in the operation of tandem dump truck. Trains in the operation of medium duty equipment including bucket trucks, tack truck, and asphalt injection machine. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Repairs potholes and base surface failures of roadway using hand tools including shovel, pick, rake and asphalt lute to level asphalt as needed. Operates standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Removes litter, debris and dead animals from roadway and rights-of-way. Conducts and documents pre-operation vehicle/equipment inspection.
