A 10th grade ducation and two and one-half (2.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources regulations.
A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position.However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.
Operates water truck associated with maintenance reclamation operations throughout District Two. Operates chip spreader unit associated with maintenance reclamation operations and other
chip seal operations throughout District Two. Performs various maintenance tasks including ditch
work, slope mowing, limb trimming, patching, in Greenwood County during the winter months or
when reclamation activities have ceased due to equipment breakdowns, or weather. Operates
standard and tandem dump trucks to transport material and pull trailers to haul equipment to
and from job sites throughout the District. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of
traffic to workers, general public and equipment. Conducts and documents preoperation
vehicle/equipment inspection and daily service of spreader unit. Trains in the operation
of other equipment, including smooth steel wheel, pneumatic, or sheepfoot rollers, motorgrader,
and self-propelled stabilizer/ recycler. Operates standard dump truck with snow plow attachment
and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Performs other related
job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor.
