A 10th grade education and two and one-half (2.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.
Assists in the erection and placement of signs and signposts, the repair of damaged signs and the painting of signposts and bridge handrails. Assists in the placement of pavement markings including stop bars, arrows, crosswalks, and railroad crossings or thermoplastic according to state specifications. Operates 10 yard standard dump truck, and flatbed trucks for hauling materials including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance task as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipe. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Operates standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges.
