A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.
Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance task as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipe. Trains in the operation of tandem dump truck. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Removes litter, debris and dead animals from roadway and rights-of-way. Assists in the installation of driveways; using hand tools, hand tamp, placing aggregates, removing mailboxes and installing and helping place large sections of pipe. Operates chain saw in cutting trees on right-of-way. Operates standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Conducts and documents pre-operation vehicle/ equipment inspection. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment.
