A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.
Operates boom-mowers, tilting frame slope mowers and bat wing mowers. Operates tandem ten-wheel dump truck, 5 to 10 yard standard dump truck, and flatbed truck for hauling materials such as asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Operates standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Performs manual labor as necessary in maintaining the grounds of SCDOT facilities, including new planting, and maintaining existing plantings. Operates a small tractor mower, weed eater and hedger to perform these duties. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as outlined in equipment specifications. Operates chain saw in the removal of trees from right-of-way. Conducts and documents pre-operation vehicle/equipment inspection.
