A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.
Repairs potholes and base surface failures of roadway using hand tools including shovel, pick,rake and asphalt lute to level asphalt as needed. Trains in operation of AMZ patching machine which is used for paving, patching repairs to base and pavement on roads, driveways, crossovers, turn lanes, parking areas and bridge approaches. Trains to operate 5 yard standard dump truck, and flatbed trucks for hauling materials including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Trains to operate steel wheel roller in the compaction of asphalt during patching and paving operations. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor.
