Requirements:

A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Assists crew in constructing reinforcing steel cages to be used in footings and caps. Constructs wooden forms to build caps and footings. Assists with the installation of bridge decks being placed onto the concrete caps. Assists crew in driving steel H piling to bearing on bridge projects. Responsible for welding pile tips onto piling and splicers as needed. Operates 18 wheeler and flatbed trucks hauling bridge materials. Operates truck mounted plows and sand spreaders in snow and ice removal as necessary. Performs other job related duties, including on call for after hour emergencies. Constructs the proper silt fencing to prevent silt from entering the watershed around the bridge site. Places Class "D" concrete into the forms and finishes the exposed top to have bearing pads attached.
