Requirements:

A 10th grade education and five and one-half (5.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.

Job Description:

Operates large centerline paint machine, keeps machine and lines clean, load paint and glass beads onto paint machine, and paints pavement markings throughout District 2. Conducts safety inspections on all assigned vehicles and equipment. Instructs crew members daily in safety practices such as flagging operations, wearing safety equipment, vehicle safety, or when working with hazardous material and waste. Devises a schedule for work to be performed by maintenance crew. Installs hot thermoplastic pavement markings during the striping off-season.Operates equipment and installs raised pavement markers when necessary. Inspects roadways for deficiencies in shoulders, roadway surface, signs ( for serviceability and safety), vegetation,and drainage during day and night inspections throughout the year. Reviews vehicle maintenance records and reports needed maintenance. Acts as lead worker of the district Centerline Paint Crew. Performs foreman's duties and responsibilities in their absence. Operates forklift on loading and unloading maintenance and construction materials and supplies. Produces daily records of work performed and materials used, records such as HMMS and the maintenance requests and complaint forms. Performs other related duties as directed, including operating various equipment in the removal of snow and ice. May investigate complaints from the public and recommend actions to be taken.
