Requirements:

A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience: or an
approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A"
Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However,
applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified
applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available

Job Description:

Operates heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, and backhoe. Operates a 5 and 8 yard dump truck during normal operations or mounted with a snow plow or sand spreader during
inclement weather. Operates steel wheel roller, tractor mounted power broom, tar kettle and
asphalt tail-gate spreader. Operates power tools such as chain saw, weed eater and pavement
breaker as needed. Serves as crew leader performing various duties within a county or section of
county such as patching roadway surfaces, cleaning ditches, and performing manual skilled labor.
Flags traffic using flag to direct traffic safely around and by workers and equipment during
roadway maintenance repairs. Performs all other necessary related job duties as requested.
