A high school diploma and four and one-half (4.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position.However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.
Maintains weekly and monthly reports, time sheets and cost records, recommends personnel actions including promotions, transfers and disciplinary measures, rates employee yearly according to the Employee Performance Management System. Supervises a maintenance crew cutting right-of-ways on highways. Supervises and ensures a safe work zone for maintenance crew, as in flagging operations, wearing of safety equipment, vehicle safety, or when working with hazardous material and waste. Supervises the mowing of shoulders and intersections during the summer growing season. Supervises the preventative maintenance of equipment to ensure routine maintenance schedule is followed and to monitor equipment use and wear to prolong equipment life. Performs other related duties, including on call or after hour emergencies. Ensures all signs are mowed around and notifies the sign crew of any hit or damaged during mowing. Supervises and coordinates crew in the removal of snow and ice from roadways and storm damage.
