A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.
Supervises and ensures a safe work zone for maintenance crew as flagging operations, wearing of safety equipment, vehicle safety, or when working with hazardous material and waste. Supervises a crew of skilled and semi-skilled Trades Specialist involved in limb trimming maintenance activities to maintain and preserve state-maintained roads in Saluda county. Supervises a crew of skilled and semi-skilled Trades Specialist involved in cutting high shoulders and ditching maintenance activities to maintain and preserve state maintained roads in Saluda County. Enters work accomplishments into Highway Maintenance Management System. Investigates work requests and schedules the necessary work. Supervises and coordinates crew in the removal of snow and ice from roadways and storm damage. Performs other job related duties, including on call for after hour emergencies.
