Qualifications include but are not limited to:
-Assisting veterinarian as needed
-Pet care and observation
-Practice proper pet restraint
-Perform venipuncture, catheter placement and maintenance
-Give a pet SQ, IV, IM injections and administer pet medication
-Proficient laboratory and pharmacy skills
-Perform anesthesia monitoring
-Perform pet dentals
-Prep pet for surgery
-Perform pet radiology (x-rays)
-Give clear and concise client education
-Communicate effectively with veterinarians, staff members, and clients
-Bathe and walk pets
-Perform kennel duties
-Able to lift forty pounds unassisted
-Must have a flexible schedule
We are an established veterinary hospital looking for an experienced veterinary technician. This position includes performing tasks such as assisting veterinarian in rooms and surgery, drawing blood/placing IVs and catheters, and conducting minor laboratory work. Periodically, the veterinary technician may also handle receptionist duties including answering phones and setting up appointments. This position will require the veterinary technician to work three days a week and every other week end.
