Veterinary Technician or Assistant

Lake Town Animal Hospital is a privately-owned and operated veterinary practice that enjoys a drama-free culture where dedicated, compassionate veterinary healthcare professionals work together with mutual respect and genuine consideration for one another. We are seeking an experienced veterinary technician or assistant to join our team in Chapin, SC. We are proud to offer exceptional medical and surgical care for dogs and cats, with a focus on client education and dedication to strengthening the human-animal bond. We are the only Fear Free Certified team in our area (training provided).

Our ideal team member would have at least 2 years experience, demonstrate a commitment to outstanding patient care and customer service, have a desire to learn and grow as a veterinary healthcare professional, and display a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Applicant must be detail-oriented and have strong communication skills.

Duties include, but are not limited to: doctor support, in-patient care, client education, surgical/exam room assistance, anesthesia preparation, monitoring and recovery, dental prophylaxis, in-house lab work, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, animal restraint, radiography, and medication administration and prescription handling.

Must be able to utilize a computerized records system (e-Vet Practice familiarity is a plus). Responsibilities will include some weekend hours (one Saturday morning per month), and reliability is a MUST. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for long periods, frequent crouching/kneeling, and the ability to lift 40 pounds.
