Must possess and demonstrate good leadership skills. Should attend all required meetings, classes, and training sessions given by GF&P, Inc. Must have legible handwriting. Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Must have well developed organizational and communication skills. Ability to demonstrate initiative as a team player to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Must be able to work well with little or no supervision and exercise reasonable judgment independently. Must be proficient in keyboarding, data entry, and office equipment such as photo copiers, telephone systems, fax machines, and printers.

Job Description:

Summary of Duties:

Responsible for work performed by employees in the shipping area by overseeing the completion of necessary tasks. Assist the Materials Manager with workflow, employee assignments, training, safety, and quality. Verifies and keeps record on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

 Give instructions and assignments to employees in shipping as needed.
 Set designated production schedules and coordinate work according to priorities.
 Assist customer service personnel with meeting delivery requirements.
 Responsible for ensuring safety rules are enforced and the work areas are clean orderly, and free from clutter and all other housekeeping issues within the department.
 Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
 Keys material locations into the ERP System daily to assure accurate inventory placement.
 Affixes shipping label on packed cartons, or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
 Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
 Posts weights, shipping charges, and affixes postage.
 Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
 Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
 Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
 Conducts periodic safety meetings in department and maintains forklift maintenance sheets.
 Committed to the GF&P, LLC quality policy, safety policies and their enforcement.
