The requirements are Certificate, Diploma or Associate Degree in Welding or closely related content area. Must possess pipe welding certification, and additional relevant industry experience and/or certifications.
The positions description is that you serve as an instructor in the Welding Technology Program; demonstrates knowledge of subject matter and teaches day, evening, Saturday courses at selected locations; evaluates student progress; maintains accurate class records; prepares daily lecture and lab information and supplemental course materials to enhance instruction; prepares and administers tests, exams, projects, and other course assignments; reviews the program and makes necessary changes; examines textbooks and software and makes necessary changes; develops course syllabi; performs all departmental instructor-level administrative and College related duties in a timely manner; prepares and administers departmental budget; prepares semester schedule; orders textbooks; completes program evaluations; identifies strategies for program improvement; provides input on selection of adjuncts when appropriate; examines program/course content to achieve program goals; completes recruitment activities; develops working relationships with other functional areas of the College; conducts effective advisory committee meetings; maintains collaborative working relationships with business and industry; develops and implements a professional development plan that supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position; participates in College professional development activities; initiates activities that expand job knowledge in content area and in technology; counsels students on academic and career needs; accurately advises students for registration in a timely manner; maintains records of student academic progress.
