She plans to enroll at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Ga., where she will pursue her bachelor’s degree in diversified agriculture with an emphasis on livestock production. She hopes to become an agriculture teacher at the middle school level.
Cheryl Mackey came to Greenwood from Albany, NY to help her ailing mother and found a new home. She discovered that a lack of a college education limited her career choices, so she enrolled at Piedmont Technical College. She will be receiving her Associate in Applied Science Degree with a major in Computer Technology with an Information Technology concentration. She plans to enter the workforce in information technology while pursuing her bachelor’s degree. Cheryl has two daughters and three grandchildren.
A special feature of commencement exercises will be recognition of top graduates from Abbeville, Greenwood, Laurens, Newberry and Saluda Counties.
