Scholarships Presented, Donors Recognized at Luncheon

Scholarships were awarded recently at a luncheon honoring donors and recipients.

 

paul deloache scholarshipThree Piedmont Technical College students recently received the Paul DeLoache Scholarship. Pictured are, from left, Selena Robinson, a massage therapy student from Saluda; and Donna Foster, scholarship committee member. Not pictured are Ashley Owens, a diversified agriculture and associate in science-honors student from Saluda; and Wanda Shull, an associate in arts student from Johnston. The scholarship is awarded annually to Saluda residents and is based on academic achievement and financial need.  

 

lady bug scholarshipTwo Piedmont Technical College veterinary technology students recently received the “Lady Bug" Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Named in memory of Lady Bug, who served as the vet tech mascot, this scholarship is available to a student in the third semester of the Veterinary Technology program who is an active participant in the Veterinary Technology Club.

This scholarship is available to past Educational Talent Search or Upward Bound students or a Student Support Services participant and is based on financial need, academic achievement and recommendation by Student Services director and staff.

 

lena warren scholarshipPiedmont Technical College student and Greenwood resident Jessica Walden, left, was recently awarded the Lena Wood Warren Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Walden, an associate degree nursing student, is congratulated by Lena Wood Warren. This scholarship is available to a PN or ADN nursing student who has completed at least one semester in the nursing program. The recipient has a 3.0 GPA or above, has an outstanding clinical performance as determined by clinical instructor, shows financial need and demonstrates leadership abilities.

ngoni mafemera scholarshipTwo Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the Ngoni Mafemera Memorial Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. The scholarship is provided by the 2012 Summer Senior Nursing students and is restricted to a student in the Nursing program who is a rising senior in either the ADN or PN program. The student must be active in community service and demonstrate financial need with a minimum 2.5 GPA.  

 

item southeast golf scholarshipPiedmont Technical College student and Newberry resident Suzanne Hatcher, left, was recently awarded the Item Southeast PTC Golf Classic Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Hatcher, an engineering graphics technology major, is congratulated by Lisa Toland, scholarship committee member. The scholarship is funded through an annual golf tournament held each spring and selection is based on academic achievement and financial need. 

 

Piedmont Technical College accounting student and Batesburg resident Kelly Lybrand was recently awarded the Judy Daulton Accounting Scholarship. This endowment was established in 2014 by Judy Daulton, a retired accounting instructor at Piedmont Technical College. Scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in the Accounting curriculum.

 

Three Piedmont Technical College students were recently awarded the Henry Blohm Leadership Scholarship. Recipients were Robert Fultz, a computer technology student from McCormick; Tiffany Mullinax, a horticulture student from Belton; and William Teate, an associate in arts student from Townville. The scholarship is available to a student who has exhibited academic achievement, leadership abilities and financial need.
