Dan Martins, plant general manager for Teijin Carbon Fibers (third from left), the Teijin Group’s carbon fiber business company in the United States, recently presented a check for $25,000 to the Piedmont Technical College Foundation in support of construction of the William H. “Billy” O’Dell Upstate Center for Manufacturing Excellence. Crews broke ground on the center last November, and construction is currently underway in Greenwood. Also pictured: Yukito Miyajima, president of Teijin Carbon Fibers, Inc.; Lauren Malone, HR Manager at Teijin Greenwood; Jeff Field, vice chairman of the PTC Foundation Board; Dr. Ray Brooks, president of Piedmont Technical College; and Fran Wiley, associate vice president for development, PTC Foundation.
