The certificate in Accounting is designed to provide students with a specialized body of knowledge in accounting. The courses are sequenced to advance from the basic principles through more advanced applications. The courses in the Accounting certificate apply toward the major in Business, Accounting concentration.

Program Student Learning Outcomes
Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Accounting Certificate is to provide a basic foundation of accounting knowledge for entry –level accounting related positions or to enhance skills of currently employed professionals.
Student Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate knowledge of the accounting process and prepare and interpret basic financial statements.
2. Analyze and prepare financial information for management decision-making.

Most classes required for this program are offered during days, evenings, and online.
Notes about individual classes

RDG 100 or appropriate placement test scores is a prerequisite for CPT 101 as well as all ACC and BAF courses.

ACC 101, 102, 201 and 202 must be taken in sequence.

ACC 150, 201, 202, and 230 are not offered online.

ACC 150 is not offered during summer terms.

ACC 201 is offered only during the fall term.

ACC 202 is offered only during the spring term.

ACC 230 is offered only during Spring and Summer semester
-
ACC 240 is a capstone course, which should be taken during the student's final semester
