Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a four year degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program

  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75

  • Valid driver’s license

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Available to work two to three co-op rotations is preferred

  • Demonstrates ability to provide the quantity and quality of work necessary to reach an accomplishment

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities through effective decision making

  • Works effectively with others from diverse backgrounds to achieve common goal

  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, appropriate clothing, ear plugs, fall protection, etc.) as needed

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs

Job Description:

This co-op will be located in Greenwood, SC. Co-op will undertake short-term responsibilities which may involve any or all of the following: electric distribution design, distribution system planning, distribution system operations, or distribution project management. The student selected will be assigned to specific duties once on board. In addition of the Microsoft suite of software, other software applications utilized by electric utilities will be used. This co-op position is open for students pursuing degrees in undergraduate (BS) studies in Engineering. In addition to working within your discipline, you may be asked to work across a multi-engineering discipline platform.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
