Requirements:

A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of work experience that involved the independent performance of job duties directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. 
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Performs welding and fabrication as needed for repairs on various equipment making modifications to equipment to improve the production of utilization. Performs electric welding or gas welding. Performs work on all electrical systems. Installs, repairs or replaces computers, alternators, strobe lights, starters, anti-lock brakes and DMIs. Repairs diesel power equipment to include motorgraders, backhoes, loaders, roller, AMZ machines, tractors, and mowing equipment. Repairs diesel engines to include cooling system, fuel system, transmissions, rear ends, hydraulics systems, gear box, steering, engines, drive trains, PTO and other various types of repairs. Performs preventive maintenance as required. Performs repairs or replaces automotive equipment. Repairs engines, transmissions, drive train, brakes, and fuel systems. Operates test equipment as required. Rebuilds rear end differential assemblies when required. Assists in shop operations during inclement weather and other emergencies. Answers service calls in the field to tractor mowers, dump trucks, and equipment. Performs other related duties as required.
