The ideal candidate would be comfortable working with the public, interested in local history, and competent with social media.
The Abbeville County Historical Society Intern would be responsible for helping promote the historical society, the McGowan House, and the Abbeville County Museum on social media. They would also assist with updating the Historic Abbeville Walking Tour and helping to form the Historic Abbeville County Driving Tour that will highlight historic sites, homes, and buildings in all of the townships. Interns would also assist with tours of the McGowan House and the Abbeville County Museum, as well as helping to locate materials for reconstructing two historic buildings. Also responsible for helping with the newsletter and membership drive.
