Skills and Abilities: • Detailed working knowledge of the construction industry and management practices. • Knowledge of construction operations including materials, production tracking, project budgets and overhead analysis are preferred. • Ability to make good decisions in a timely manner. • Knowledge of technology equipment and software, and able to efficiently utilize software used by the business including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Viewpoint and Bid2Win, Auto CAD, and or Trimble Business software a plus. • Strong organization and detailed oriented skills. Self-Management: • Must be organized, self-motivated, and work well independently and as part of a group. • Must be a strong team player, able to work effectively with a variety of people, personalities, skills and organizational levels. • Demonstrate ability perform detailed tasks accurately. • Must be able to use verbal skills to talk with new vendors and subcontractors. • Comfortable taking personal responsibility to work efficiently and continuously improve the estimating processes. Education and Experience: • 2 year degree in Construction Management, Turf Grass/Sports Field Management, Pre-Engineering or related field, preferred. • Field experience in the construction industry is preferred. • Estimating experience or contract management experience in a related field preferred. Work Environment/Physical Demands: • Regularly required to stand, sit and move about the facility. • Able to lift objects up to 50 lbs. • Nationwide Travel as required. • Valid Driver’s license required. • Able to work with various office technology, hardware and software.

Job Summary: An Assistant Superintendent’s main purpose is not limited to supervising/managing multiple small crews on a project, but will a “hands-on” management position. This may include management of a grading, drainage, feature construction, irrigation, special feature construction, grassing crew, or any other type of crews associated with heavy golf course construction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist in daily preparation of a list of proposed crewmembers and present to project manager. • Daily crew management. • Daily recording of as-builts. • As-builts converted to Auto CAD • Daily recording of all quantities. • Daily documentation of production reports as required. • Train employees in the skills which are needed for each specific task. • Any and all other tasks which the project superintendent might need assistance with. • Layout with GPS. • Beginning use of Primavera scheduling. • Operating equipment as needed to complete tasks. • Hold weekly safety meetings, and daily huddles with crews. • Review with Site Supervisor and Estimator projects after construction • Assist office estimators as needed with take-offs, and calling for subcontractor quotes while projects are being estimated.
