Equivalent to a Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in computer science, information management, business or public administration, or a related field of study. A Master?s degree is highly desirable. Career experience must be at the senior level of an organization with substantial experience managing staff, projects, and budgets. Knowledge of cyber security principles as applied in utility, industrial, and municipal government environments is desired. Must possess a valid State driver?s license at time of hire.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate in this position will be a positive influence on day-to-day operations, have a ?can-do? attitude, and be comfortable with a hands-on approach to all aspects of the City of Newberry Utilities? procedures from the high levels of in-home comforts to billing services. The ideal candidate will have a natural interest in mentoring and guiding staff, having patience to not only explain strategy and procedures but also can explain how to effectively and efficiently achieve established technology goals with a pro-active approach versus a reactive response. The ideal candidate will have exceptional management, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a hands-on approach to addressing a broad range of information technology challenges and opportunities.
