A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience that is directly related related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties in the permits department of Greenville Maintenance. Investigates hazardous trees on the right-of-way and follows Departmental policy in getting them removed. Investigates illegal encroachment onto the right-of-way and follows Department policy to get them removed. Participates in meetings and public hearing relating to transportation planning and design. Receives encroachment permit information, performs site inspections and administers state standards and regulations prior to approval of encroachments within the boundaries of state right-of-way. Inspects asphalt, earthwork and concrete on various projects to ensure compliance with established Department regulations within the perimeters of state right-of-way. Required to work during inclement weather handling calls and radio transmissions. Performs other related duties as required.
