Wages/Salary: STATE SALARY RANGE: $26,988.00 - $49,932.00 Annually AGENCY HIRING RANGE - MIN: 27,796.00 AGENCY HIRING RANGE - MAX: 49,932.00
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Inspects all phases of construction work, including pipe, curb and gutter installation, grading and base, drainage, catch basins, foundations, concrete, reclamation, and asphalt placement.
Performs inspection work independently in asphalt or earthwork type construction. Trains in other types of SCDOT construction work. Calculates pay quantities including, areas, cubic yards on excuvation, asphalt rates, spread rates, and lengths. Computes grades as necessary. Keys in all construction notes and pay items into Site Manager as daily work reports. Performs preliminary work including stationing, staking, and cross sloping. Collects required construction
samples according to SCDOT specifications. Performs other duties as assigned by
Resident Construction Engineer and Assistant Resident Construction Engineer.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
