Minimum Education - High school diploma or equivalent. Must have or be able to obtain SC LLR state certification as residential building inspector within twelve months.
Minimum Qualification - One or more years experience as a residential inspector, or appropriate training and/or experience necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Inspects residential building construction for compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, regulations and laws; inspects fuel/gas, mechanical and plumbing systems; inspects and interprets plans, specifications, engineering and architectural details & compiles construction reports. Interfaces with architects, engineers, builders, sub-contractors and owners. Preferred applicant will have knowledge of international building codes, construction tools and instruments, laws, ordinances, standards and regulations pertaining to specific duties/responsibilities of the position and basic construction principles and materials.
