Requirements:

Bachelor?s degree with 1-2 years comparable experience, prefer in nuisance abatement/codes enforcement; or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully complete the job. Must demonstrate a familiarity of local ordinances and state laws, court procedures, and fine structures; ability to maintain detailed records, review data, and write reports; ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in written form); effective customer service skills; must be computer literate (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Valid S C driver?s license required. Physical duties include, but are not limited to, frequently lifting over 30 lbs.; working at a desk, operating city vehicles, and inspections in the field; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals; ability to visually observe objects at close and distance ranges, distinguish colors, and depth perception. Principle duties: patrol the city to detect sign, nuisance, housing, and other city code violations; cite violators, and prepare activity reports, documents for summons and court proceedings
