A National Healthcare Company is looking for an experienced Remote Risk Adjustment Medical Coder with proficiency in Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (DSNP) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for correctly coding healthcare claims in order to obtain reimbursement from insurance companies and government healthcare programs, such as Medicaid and Medicare.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze patient admittance and discharge records, properly determining codes for patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Review records for accuracy, ensuring that any required data gets included in the record.
- Utilize ICD-10 codes and procedures to translate patient information into alphanumeric medical code.
- Understand the intricacies and application of the DSNP.
- Work with healthcare providers to ensure that correct codes are assigned.
- Interact with billing department to ensure claims are properly billed.
- Use specialized Medical Coding software to assign correct codes.
- Adhere to medical coding protocols and guidelines in line with rules and regulations.
- Address and resolve any issues or misunderstandings related to the coding and billing of a patient’s treatment plan.
