Requirements:
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A High School Diploma and three (3) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.

An Associate's Degree and one (1) year experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.

Knowledge of proper telephone procedures. Proficiency in the use of personal computers; knowledge of various software including Microsoft Word, as well as the CHIP mainframe system. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A valid drivers license is required. Must have good insight and initiative in responding to changing conditions. Some overtime may be required.

We're looking for an enthusiastic Eligibility Specialist I for our Richland County office who is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of incoming annual and semi-annual recertifications arriving statewide for the State Office SNAP Scanning Center. Responsible for accurately and effectively transferring annual and semi-annual recertifications into the agency's statewide scanning system. .

The Eligibility Specialist I will be responsible for sorting and routing incoming annual and semi-annual re-certifications and appropriate documentation.

Mail processing to include stamping and re-routing mail received in error back to the county or origin or the customer.

Ensures the proper registering, scanning and assigning of documents entering the Scan Center daily. Paper documentation will be processed and reviewed for overall image quality and accuracy.  


Paper documents will be scanned into the statewide scanning system and assigned to the appropriate folder indicating county/worker assignment.

Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of scanning equipment.


Will be required to perform Red Cross shelter/emergency response duties as directed.

Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
