MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree in engineering; or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and two (2)years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Trains as inspector on road and bridge projects. Assists with completion of inspection reports.Reviews sampling requirements and test results to ensure that adequate samples have been obtained to represent the materials used during construction. Obtains samples of materials to submit to the laboratory for testing. Trains as surveyor on road and bridge projects. Operates surveying equipment in the absence of instrument man. Checks and verifies grades and offsets associated with all phases of construction. Assists in project closeout procedures. Prepares asbuilt construction plans. Completes related forms and reports. Assists with review of daily work reports, certification and sample logs for the generation of monthly reports and estimates. Assists with filing and uploading reports and documents to share point and project wise. Trains in supervision and management of fellow employees. Assists with monthly job audits to ensure all forms and reports are on file for QMT visits. Serves as the agency's representative when meeting with contractors, general public, property owners, and utility company representatives in answering questions, resolving disputes and satisfying complaints. Performs other related duties as requested by supervisor.
