MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
 A bachelor's degree in engineering and two (2) years of entry-level engineering work
 experience; or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and four (4) years of entry-level
 engineering work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State
 Human Resources Regulations.
 A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
 Candidates must present documentation of their attainment of college
 degree(s) at the time of interview. Documentation must be either an official or unofficial copy
 of the college transcript or Letter of Verification of Degree from the Institution's Registrar's
 Office. If the candidate selected for the position provided an unofficial copy, it must be
 replaced with an official copy no later than thirty (30) calendar days after the effective date of
 employment. Failure to provide documentation within the required timeframe will result in
 termination of employment.
Acts as the Assistant Resident Construction Engineer in Greenwood County on roadway and
 bridge projects throughout District Two. Manages complex roadway and bridge construction
 projects to include but not limited to the following: planning and coordinating inspection duties
 of assigned technicians and engineers, ensuring that inspectors and engineers follow procedures
 outlined in the SCDOT construction manual and contract specifications, performing material
 inspection and testing in accordance with SCDOT specifications, assisting the RCE with monthly
 estimates and final estimates, and assisting RCE in meeting project close out deadlines and
 ensuring a QMT score of at least 2.85 on all projects. Prepares technical reports. Supervises and
 conducts the production of daily work reports, monthly estimates, and other necessary reports
 on construction projects. Corresponds with contractors, municipalities, SCDOT personnel, and
 other agencies concerning construction issues. Meets with property owners and utility
 representatives to resolve problems. Perform related duties as required by RCE.
