Wages/Salary: $47,092.00 - $87,125.00 Annually
A bachelor's degree in engineering and four (4) years of journey-level engineering work
experience; or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and six (6) years of journey-level engineering work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License
Serves as Resident Construction Engineer in the Abbeville Construction office supervising engineering, technical and administrative staff in the management of multiple highway and bridge construction projects. Supervises the construction and layout of all assigned projects to ensure they are constructed in accordance with the contract, contact special provisions, plans and the standard specifications. Manages preconstruction utility coordination on assigned projects. Responds to concerns and complaints from property owners who have property adjacent to construction projects and complaints from traveling public. Evaluates and recommends personnel actions and approves the payroll for the Abbeville Construction office.Responds to District Engineer, SCDOT personnel in Columbia, contractors and related parties with written correspondence. Reviews and recommends erosion control plans, traffic control plans, and other construction submittals to the District for approval. Reviews plans for proposed projects and makes recommendations for improvement. Performs other job related duties as requested.
