Wages/Salary: $44,825.00 - $82,930.00 Annually

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in engineering and four (4) years of journey-level engineering work experience; or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and six (6) years of journey-level engineering work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A master's degree in engineering and two (2) years of entrylevel engineering work experience may be substituted for the required experience. Selected position may require registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of SC as prescribed in SC State Code Sections 40-22-20 and 40-22-30. A valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Job Description:

Plans, coordinates and schedules all necessary maintenance activities of all roadways, bridges,and rights-of-way in Edgefield County within the state system. Supervises all maintenance crews in work assignments to ensure that all activities are performed in accordance to Department policies and standards. Performs inspections of roadways, bridges and rights-ofway to ensure that they are maintained in a safe condition for the traveling public. Performs various office related duties including preparing maintenance reports, correspondence, handling personnel matters. interviews new hires, reviewing encroachment permits and requisitions.Investigates maintenance requests and complaints received from the general public and public
officials and ensures that corrective action is taken. Reviews and approves purchase orders,requisitions, weekly and monthly reports. Achieves 86.5% or higher county usage percentage on county's equipment utilization for the current fiscal year. Conducts various meetings including safety, training, and personnel meetings. Performs other related job duties.
