Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and four (4) years of intermediate-level engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License is required.  

Job Description:

Serves as Resident Construction Engineer in the Abbeville Construction Office supervising engineering, technical, and administrative staff in the management of multiple highway and bridge construction projects. Supervises the construction and layout of all assigned projects to ensure they are constructed in accordance with the contract, plans, contract special provisions and standard specifications. Manages preconstruction utility coordination on assigned projects. Responds to the concerns and complaints from property owners and the public. Responds to District Engineer, other SCDOT personnel, contractors, and related parties with written correspondence. Evaluates and recommends personnel actions and approves the payroll for Abbeville Construction. Reviews and recommends erosion control plans, traffic control plans, and other construction submittals to the District for approval. Reviews plans for proposed projects and makes recommendations for improvements. Performs other related duties as required.
