Requirements:
  • Requires extensive travel to job sites for periods of time ranging from 3 to 9 months

  • Proven record of responsible and reliable work

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic arithmetic skills

  • Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Word as well as creating and emailing pdfs and photos.

  • Basic knowledge in the operation of smart phones for communication of verbal and scanned documents by email.

  • Ability to work on construction site as the individual CQA representative or as a part of a small on-site team.

  • Physical abilities required to meet project demands include:

    • Ability to walk on the order of 6 miles per day with portions on slopes of up to 3 horizontal to 1 vertical slopes and carry up to 50 lbs. in buckets for distances up to 50 feet.

    • Ability to work outdoors on construction sites in all seasons for extended time periods and work days of up to 12 hours per day.

    • Ability to drive up to 8 hours for job site mobilizations.

    • Ability to use hand tools and testing apparatuses.

  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.

Job Description:

We have immediate full-time openings for Geotechnical Technicians to serve as the on-site construction quality assurance representative for projects located in the southeastern USA.  The assignments will be performed under the immediate supervision of a registered professional engineer.  The primary responsibilities generally consist of construction quality assurance monitoring of various environmentally regulated solid waste landfill construction projects.  Responsibilities include monitoring general contractor activities, onsite testing and reporting of earthwork and soil construction as well as geosynthetic base liner, closure cap, piping and gas extraction systems for solid waste landfills.  Daily reports are to be prepared for submission to the project engineer via computer and consist of descriptions of construction site observations, summaries of test results, sketches of site work and photographs.  Company vehicle, mobile field office equipment and allowances for travel living expenses are provided. In-house training and mentorship is provided.
