Requirements:

A 10th grade education and one and one half (1.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Operates Athey loader, in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of roadside shoulders, roadside and outfall ditches, driveways, pipeline, grading for positive drainage, specialty asphalt projects, and loading trucks with filled materials. Operates 5 yard and trains to operate a tandem dump trucks hauling materials and equipment to and from job sites. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance tasks as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipe. Performs related duties as required for normal daily operations such as flagging, work zone setup and take down, follow vehicle driving, small power tool operation, and tree removal. Performs related duties as required for stand-by crew rotation, emergencies,snow-ice, and equipment operation such as plow, or spreader, requiring right-of-way debris removal. Trains to operate the backhoe and loader. Performs other related duties as required.
