Requirements:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum of two (2) years in the supervision of day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance preferred. 

  • Minimum of one (1) year maintenance experience at the plant; and, 

  • Minimum of nine (9) years’ experience as a craftsperson; or, 

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a craftsperson and AS degree in a technical area or completion of apprenticeship program. 

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with SAP CMMS. 

  • SC WorkKeys Math, Reading and Locating with a score of 4 or higher 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS 

  • SAP experience and working knowledge of CMMS 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, etc.) 

  • Strong command of written and verbal communications. 

  • Leadership, organizational, time management and facilitation skills 

  • Materials and labor estimating 

  • Ability to work autonomously in the field with little supervision 

  • Demonstrate ability to run ad hoc work order through the entire workflow. 

  • Able to initiate and process PMs. 

  • Able to initiate and process corrective work from PM and PdM inspections. 

  • Demonstrate understanding of criticality tool and its use in planning and scheduling. 

  • Demonstrate ability to accurately plan jobs including materials and labor estimates. 

  • Demonstrate understanding of procurement policies and procedures and the ability secure materials and contract labor as needed. 

  • Demonstrate proficiency with SAP CMMS and the ability to meet responsibilities, tasks and SAP transactions per procedure MGN-WPWPRL003-P. 

  • Demonstrate proficiency with Windows software (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.). 

  • Ability to work with others in a teamwork environment. 

  • Demonstrate communication skills to teach and mentor others on proper workflow procedures.

Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW 

 

The Planner role develops maintenance job plans and prepares them for scheduling and work execution. This includes regular maintenance jobs, preventive and predictive jobs, and shutdown jobs. 

 

TARGETED OUTCOMES 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices to include Ascend Safety policies and procedures, OSHA and environmental requirements. 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the workflow process and an understanding of the planner role within the workflow. 

  • Understand the processes of the plant to help improve and to find shortcomings 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Planner Duties  

  • Plan all maintenance work (corrective, preventive and predictive) for the operating site within the planner’s area of cognizance. 

  • Plan all maintenance with special attention paid to all regulatory requirements that may apply.  This includes, but is not limited to, OSHA rules, EPA regulations, and state and local environmental regulations. 

  • Insure all safety requirements are observed in the performance of maintenance in the planner’s area of cognizance. 

  • Provide effective job plans to insure work completion in an efficient and effective manner. 

  • Provide materials and labor estimates required to complete work orders. 

  • Identify specialty tooling required to complete the job and insure availability. 

  • Identify the need for outside Contractors and secure proposal to complete the scope of work. 

  • Check submitted work orders for completeness and accuracy communicating with Operations Coordinator as needed. 

  • Review work order scope and insure MOC process is followed with approvals prior to planning. 

  • Review all completed work orders for completeness and accuracy, updating machinery history data in the CMMS system as required. 

  • Train maintenance personnel in proper maintenance procedures and proper reporting procedures for out-of-specification findings, and in the use of CMMS software as a maintenance management tool. 

  • Through the use of regular reports, keep the Planning and Maintenance Supervisors informed of work progress and future work schedules. 

  •  Assist the Maintenance Supervisors in the “qualification” and monitoring of the performance of all contractors working in the planner’s area of cognizance. 

  • Update the CMMS system for all equipment within the planner’s area of cognizance.  This includes machinery data, machinery history, and spare parts lists. 

  • Using the CMMS system, forecast work force needs for equipment maintenance in the planner’s area of cognizance. 

  • Enter and complete all completed work orders in CMMS system. 

  • Transition capital improvement projects from engineering department to the operations and production departments.  Included is the updating of information in the CMMS database to reflect the improvement, addition, or deletion of equipment and their associated spare parts and maintenance procedures. 

  • Develop and insure the accuracy of BOM (Bill of Materials) making edits and additions as needed. 

  • Maintain the PM system for area of responsibility, editing jobs, estimated hours, frequency, adding new PM’s as needed. 

  • Assist Material Coordinator with part discrepancies, description cleanup, etc. 

  • Identify part discrepancies, additional work needed, work task edits, reoccurring problems in area of responsibility through review of complete work orders in order to build standard job packages
