Qualifications:
• Prior work experience in a field/outdoor setting is preferred, not required.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Prior work experience in FTTH / Telecommunications is a plus.
• Must be able to work with extended periods of bending, squatting,
climbing, crawling under houses, kneeling, lifting, standing, etc.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in all temperatures and weather
conditions.
• Must be willing to perform certain aerial tasks involving cable installs, cable hanging, and working from a bucket and or ladder.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license and satisfactory
driving record.
• Must be willing to maintain a neat/clean appearance.
PRTC, a local telecommunications company, is seeking to hire a full-time
OUTSIDE PLANT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN.
Fiber Optic (FTTH) Installer will be responsible for installation and repair
of fiber optic cabling to provide residences and businesses with highspeed
internet access. Also, will install and maintain copper based DSL
internet connections.
Responsibilities:
• Installing, repairing high speed internet, and connecting customer
devices to Wi-Fi.
• Ensure all installation work is done according to company standards.
• Must adhere to all safety standards/requirements as detailed by both
the company and the customers.
• Will manage vehicle inventory, including but not limited to all
equipment required to perform daily residential and business
installations.
• Afterhours On-Call responsibilities will be added once training is
complete, and installer can perform all job tasks unassisted.
