A level of complexity that usually requires understanding of engineering blue prints and die builds, metal stamping process. Proven practical experience directly related to the Deep Drawn and Progressive metal stamping components to acquire job knowledge.

Job Description ? Press Setter / Operator/Journeyman Toolmaker

Reports to: Production Leader/Supervisor

Responsibilities: Understands metal stamping process and inspection methods, uses his/her professional discipline and judgment to complete tasks in a timely manner. Support the company?s vision and values in performance of daily activities. Adhere to all company policies and quality procedures to manufacture precision parts.

Goals and Responsibilities:
? Understand work instructions and be able to read blue prints.
? Be attentive to detail and strictly follow company quality procedures to protect company?s interest.
? Support process improvement initiative and activities as directed by management.
? Assure all OSHA safety procedures are properly followed and use protective equipment where necessary in performing daily work.
? Understands product functionality, manufacturing and customer expectations.
? Keep abreast of technological changes and developments within the organization.
? Utilize basic mathematical skills and understanding of SPC data entry.
? Work well with others in a team environment and help colleagues where possible.
? Further personnel knowledge in learning the press/tool function and record troubleshooting history to share with the team.
Work Duties:
? Request raw materials from warehouse; verify the material type and dimensions.
? Set-up, operate and maintain operation of production equipment.
? Measure and evaluate product to maintain visual and dimensional requirements against customer print. Use SPC principles to manage process.
? Accurately record dimensional data to complete necessary documentation.
? Assist the production team as necessary and maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the plant following 5S principles.
? Support plant activities in maintaining quality registration, not limited to; TS 16949, ISO 14001.
Special Duties:
? Recommend preventative solutions to eliminate defects in new or existing products.
? Visualize and comprehend all aspects of manufacturing equipment and tooling.
? Participate in internal quality audits and training where applicable.

Physical Demands:
? Duties include and are not limited to: see, talk, stand, walk, lift, twist and bend. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibrations and hazardous materials.
