Wages/Salary: Salary Range: $62,545.60 - $87,588.80.
Minimum Training & Experience – Vocational school training in electrical installations, construction, or a related field and three to five years of supervisory experience in street maintenance and/or construction; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred.
The City of Greenwood is actively seeking an energetic, hardworking individual to serve as Director of Public Works. Under limited supervision, the Public Works Director is responsible for the overall supervision of all personnel and operations in the Public Works and Sanitation Department to ensure proper, safe, and effective daily activities. Performs various related duties such as planning daily work routines, inspecting work for compliance with established standards and specification, maintaining records, and ensuring the repair and maintenance of equipment. Works directly with the Public Works and Sanitation Superintendents to perform supervisory duties as instructing, reviewing, and planning work. Works closely with employees from the SC Department of Transportation, Greenwood Commissioners of Public Works, the Greenwood Metropolitan Sewer Commission, and Greenwood County to coordinate and complete various projects. Reports directly to the City Manager.
