Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL). (NOTE): This position requires a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Trains to operate tandem ten-wheel dump truck, 5 yard standard dump truck, and flatbed truck for hauling materials including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Trains in the operations of small motor grader in grading, machining shoulders, spreading and leveling materials in order to ensure proper drainage of roadway. Trains in the operation of tractor mounted ditching machine in ditching operations through out the county. Trains in the operation of street sweeper (motorized) to sweep and clean roads. Performs duties using manual labor, in maintenance tasks including clearing right-of-ways,
cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repair to bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipes. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Operates standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges once training is complete.

Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)/ Full-Time
