Requirements:

A high school diploma and four and one-half (4.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid commercial driver's license. (Note): This position requires a commercial driver's license.However, applicants without a commercial driver's license will be considered if no qualified applicants with a commercial driver's license are available. However, applicants are required to obtain a commercial driver's license within six (6) months of employment. May be required to work overtime due to inclement weather, night shifts and/or weekends or holidays.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, serves as crew leader for Southern Response Crew in Greenville County. Supervises and inspects work including ditching, machining shoulders, patching, laying pipe and paving driveways and entrances. Maintains weekly and monthly reports, time sheets and cost records. Recommends personnel actions including promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. Rates employees yearly according to the Employee Performance Management System. Supervises the preventive maintenance of equipment to ensure routine maintenance schedule is followed and to monitor equipment use and wear to prolong equipment life. Keeps all necessary paperwork involved with inventory control. Devises and implements
schedule for work to be performed by maintenance crew. Supervises and coordinates crew in the removal of snow and ice from the roadways. Performs other job related duties including on call for after hour emergencies.
