Wages/Salary: STATE SALARY RANGE: $32,838.00 - $60,760.00 Annually

Requirements:

A high school diploma and seven and one-half (7.5) years of related trades experience; or an
approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A"
Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However,
applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified
applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Plans, assigns, reviews disputes, and supervises the work of Mechanic III (s) who perform a
variety of routine and complex repairs to both gasoline and diesel powered equipment and
vehicles. Contacts correct agencies in warranty type work on new equipment. Plans, assigns,
and supervises the work of employees to include the preventive maintenance program for
equipment and vehicles. Assists them with purchasing parts and supplies needed. Provides
technical expertise in ordering parts and supplies. Assists mechanics and performs any
necessary repairs to vehicles and equipment as needed. Assures that the shop area is
maintained in a safe, clean, and organized manner. Distributes jobs to employees to perform
work on various types of equipment and vehicles. Initiates the job service sheets through the
"SWIPS" system. Reviews and approves the service ticket once jobs are complete, the parts
and labor are posted, and the supply specialists have closed the ticket. Completes the daily
work report for assigned crew. Completes EPMS evaluations and time sheets. Completes
correspondence concerning equipment issues. Performs other related job duties as assigned by
supervisor.
