Instant Admission Day Set for November 20 in Greenwood

An American phrase with old Scottish influences, “lickety-split” basically means “at full speed.” Linguists theorize that “lickety” derives from “lick,” meaning “going at quite a lick.” Some speculate that “split” comes from the days when men competed in fast-paced wood-splitting contests. Whatever its origins, “lickety-split” is the word of the day for prospective students wishing to enroll at Piedmont Technical College (PTC). The college will hold an “Instant Admission Day” on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Lex Walters Campus-Greenwood Enrollment Center. Participants can get accepted on the spot and fast-track their way into college, moving closer to their career goals.

Admissions and financial aid counselors will be on hand from 9 a.m. top 5 p.m. on Nov. 20 to help students get accepted and complete the enrollment process quickly for the spring 2020 semester. Students will leave Instant Admission Day already enrolled and prepared to start classes this spring.

Those planning to attend Instant Admission Day are asked to bring a photo ID, their official high school transcript or GED Score report, official college transcripts if they’ve completed previous college courses and their 2017 tax return (parents’ 2017 return if under 24). Spring classes begin on January 8, 2020.
