Piedmont Technical College Foundation adds 3 new board members
The Piedmont Technical College (PTC) Foundation has added three new members to its board of directors.
The new board members are Joshua “Corey” Harmon, Jason Kelley and Stephen Taylor. They join 20 other board members at the Foundation, which provides financial support to PTC from alumni and friends, business and industry and grant-making organizations.
Harmon is the safety, training and compliance coordinator at Titan Farms in Ridge Springs. He is a 2024 graduate of PTC’s Diversified Agriculture program who remains actively engaged with the Saluda County Campus and maintains strong relationships with faculty and staff. Harmon continues to support the agriculture program, speaking with classes and bringing students to Titan Farms to provide them with firsthand exposure to commercial agriculture and the vital role it plays in the local economy and community.
"Corey is an incredible ambassador for Saluda County and a powerful voice for PTC's Diversified Agriculture and Emergency Services programs,” said PTC Associate Vice President for Development Jacki G. Berkshire. “By bringing the invaluable perspective of a non-traditional student, Corey truly embodies what it means to be a champion for lifelong learning. We are thrilled to welcome his insight, passion, and dedication to our board."
Kelley is executive vice president and chief financial officer for GMI Holding, Inc., in Greenwood. Kelley was first introduced to PTC as a director at Lonza more than 15 years ago and has maintained an active interest in the college’s mission and its role in workforce development. He has supported technical education initiatives with industry employees, stays informed on program offerings and recognizes the importance of aligning education with local industry needs.
“Jason is a big thinker whose professional industry experience and understanding of the non-profit sector will be a true asset to the Foundation. His past involvement with other technical colleges gives him unique insight into our mission, and he is a strong proponent of aligning education with the current and future needs of industry leaders,” Berkshire said. “We are excited to welcome his forward-thinking leadership to the board.”
Taylor is a government and community affairs representative with Abbeville-based West Carolina. In his previous role as Abbeville County’s economic development director, Taylor worked on several projects involving workforce development. He collaborated with PTC to establish the welding program at the Abbeville County Career Center.
“Stephen’s strong business acumen and his experiences in government relations will provide a wealth of opportunities for the PTC Foundation to expand its partnerships with businesses and industries across our service area and beyond,” Berkshire said. “His incredible energy and deep passion for Abbeville County and PTC will serve our Foundation exceptionally well, and we are excited that he has accepted our invitation to join our board.”
