MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field + 2 yrs experience in automated information or communication system design, installation, operation repair, sales, or marketing; or Associate's degree in computer science, computer technology, or related field + 4 yrs experience in automated information or communication system design, installation, operation repair, sales, or marketing; or HS diploma + 6 yrs experience in automated information or communication system design, installation, operation repair, sales, or marketing.

Must be physically able to lift and carry equipment weighing 50 lbs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Knowledge and at least one (1) year work experience configuring, maintaining, and supporting a Windows 2012 Active directory domain including support services.

-Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and security certificates.

-At least 1 year work experience installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Exchange 2007, 2010 or later, SQL Server, managing and maintaining Windows Server 2012 file and Print Services.

-Knowledge of Microsoft Distributed File System (DFS), Hardware RAID solutions, Storage Area Networks (SAN) as well as Server hardware, with knowledge of HP server and RAID being a plus, network services and data communications especially related to TCP/IP networking in a routed computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging, and maintenance techniques.

-Ability to present technical and non-technical reports in a clear and concise manner.

-Ability to establish effective working relationships with vendors, management, staff, and users.

Job Description:

In this challenging role, you will support the Office of Information Technology department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following:

-Install, manage, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot server-based applications, server operating systems, and hardware. Provide support assistance, and recommendations to the Director of Infrastructure Support Services in managing and monitoring of local and enterprise servers and overall network operations, including but not limited to login scripts, user accounts, and server performance issues. Maintain accurate up-to-date documentation on all systems and services managed as well as documenting all services provided in the help desk ticket system.

-Plan and design upgrades and enhancements to server hardware, software, systems, and equipment and makes recommendations to the Director of Infrastructure Support Services on the upgrades and enhancements. Develop written plans and system diagrams for proposed upgrades and enhancements.

-Monitor, manage, and maintain NAS and SAN enterprise file storage systems as well as the VMware virtual server infrastructure.

-Maintain network and server security and intrusion prevention by extensive research and acquiring knowledge of industry best practices to prevent security breach and intrusion. Determine and implement necessary hardware and software solutions and fixes to protect network resources from intrusions and security breaches. Develop and maintain documentation on server configuration and management of best practices.

-Manage and monitor the backup of all systems supported by the Infrastructure Support Services department.

-Design and write Power Shell and other scripts, as needed, to support the servers and systems the Infrastructure Support Services department is responsible for maintaining.

-Performs on-call duties, as required, as a member of the Infrastructure Support Services team on-call rotation.

-Performs other duties, as required. Performs ongoing study and training to acquire knowledge and to stay current on developing technology.
