A Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting and more than two years of accounting or auditing experience; or an Associate degree in accounting and four years of accounting related experience; or a high school diploma and a minimum of six years related accounting experience. Knowledge of the state accounting and reporting system (SCEIS). Candidate will need thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data, records and reports, and also proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Performs professional duties in the creation and maintenance of accounting records, the verification and documentation of financial transactions or the preparation and management of agency budgets.
Audits and analyzes complex financial transactions including disbursement vouchers and journal entries for completeness and assurance of compliance with federal and state funding requirements utilizing SCEIS (SAP).
Utilizing SCEIS, directs the allocation of all agency revenues. Analyzes transactions in specific accounts, including operating revenues. Allocates revenues to the appropriate cost centers.
Responsible for monthly sales and use tax submissions to the SC Department of Revenue.
Assists with the agency procurement card program utilizing SCEIS and Works systems.
Analyzes, prepares and distributes various financial and fiscal reports and statements for internal and external use.
